VARIABLE SURFACE TRACKING TEST

MARCH 27, 2011 - DU PAGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT CENTER

MRC had the elite 8 this weekend without this wonderful group of workers outside for 2 days, while many of you were inside watching college basketball or some other indoor activity, these workers and judges braved 20 degree plus temperatures with wind gusts so strong that the flags were seldom not flying straight out from the pole.  A special thank you to our tracklayers Donna Cordoba (my double tracklayer)thanks to Donna for stepping in when at the last minute one of our tracklayers became ill,  Liz Hixon, Barbara Palm, & Paul Childers all MRC members and Sylvia Schultz from Pecatonica Tracking Club and also our judges Pam German and Wally O’Brien.

Sunday morning started with Chef Wally making wonderful omelets for all our tracklayers, using his Christmas present a butane stove, these omelets would put most restaurants to shame, of course, how many of us have had the privilege of eating omelets in the jail parking lot with the actual temperature of 21 degrees on a Sunday morning.  I wish to thank our judge Wally O’Brien AKA Chef Wally for providing all the workers with such a great breakfast

But stop not only did we have the AM Chef we also had Paul Childers AKA Chef Paul brewing his chili over his camp fire.  Many thanks to both of these Chefs you know I could really enjoy being the secretary for tracking more often by having our own personal Chefs.

And a special thanks to everyone that contributed food to make this a great weekend. 

We also had another group that shall we call the Super 6 – 6 teams 4 Rottweilers and 2 Nottweilers for the test with a total entry of 11 teams. 

I was thrilled to see two teams pull off a VST title this day.  Ch Esmonds Absolut Attitude, UD, TDX, RE with coach Donna Wielert and a super surprise West Highland White Terrier Sunshine Serenade TDX,RN and her coach Penny DuBernat.  Many of our other teams came close but I believe the winds were not in their favor this day.
